The legacy of the masters of contemporary music
Some places have great stories to tell. The Taller de Músics in Barcelona is one of them. Jazz greats such as Tete Montoliú have graced its classrooms and shared their experiences, genius and passion with many of its students, who have become prestigious, internationally renowned musicians in their right. Located in the Raval district of Barcelona, the Taller de Músics is now an official school, with degree courses and a constantly expanding structure, which welcomes hundreds of students and many teachers.
Solo works with Taller in the graphic communication of some of its degree courses, events and workshops. These pieces create visual sub-identities with a clear corporate aspect. Our aim is to reinvent the use of elements, while maintaining a consistent order, each time something new and different is communicated.
The pieces we create are platforms for graphic experimentation, exploring typography overlays and photo manipulation to create a new, unique language. The interconnection between the images and the words, or the geometric patterns, creates formal and attractive scores that recount the school's unique history.
This project, which we have worked on over the past two years, has produced a series of high-quality graphic pieces that showcase the rich traditions of Taller de Músics, without shying away from using new solutions.
