Sabau Cinquantanys
A label that tells a unique story
This is a unique wine made from a grape variety that is almost non-existent in Catalonia, Spain. Traditionally grown in Northern Italy and known as Barbera, this grape results in a singular wine packed with subtle nuances.
We drew inspiration from the unique history of the family who founded the Sabau winery to design the label. Fifty years ago, the grandfather cultivated grapes in a small vineyard which his son later uprooted. Five decades later, the grandson replanted the vineyards with the Barbera variety and began producing a fine family-made wine, reaping the fruits planted by his visionary grandfather.
The label that wraps around the bottle features the grandfather’s face in a single image, a tribute to the man who pioneered this project.
With only 1,000 bottles produced, this exclusive and limited edition wine is hand numbered. The label’s colours change each year to create the sense of a collection, much in demand by consumers.
