Nau Ivanow
The typographical nature of a creative space
The Nau Ivanow, located in Barcelona’s Sagrera neighbourhood, is a space for creating and showcasing the performing arts. It is a platform that promotes artistic projects, particularly those by young creators, and provides support throughout every stage of the process.
In 1959, architect Jordi Figueres Anmella was commissioned by businessman Victor Ivanow Bauer to design the Pinturas Ivanow factory on an empty lot in this industrial neighbourhood. Construction on the building did not begin until 1967 and the factory was inaugurated in 1968.
The centre is housed in a building that features stunning windows arranged in a perfect grid. This serves as a point of departure for developing a customized corporate typeface that reproduces the exact proportion of these windows.
Colour is also part of the image in paper format and changes regularly to give the corporate identity greater visual impact.
